Icelandic author Ragna Sigurðardóttir has been focusing her novels on art. Here the main character Elsa is an ambitious young artist and goes to Paris to further her education in art. This however demands sacrifices. It is not such a simple matter to become a woman artist and it certainly was not any easier in the mid twentieth century when this story takes place.
