Safnasafnið launched its Showcase pub­lications in 2016, with the objective of researching its collection and presenting it to a wider public than those who visit the museum’s exhibitions. This primarily reflects the museum’s policy of cata­loging and mediating an undervalued aspect of Icelandic art history, which the museum systematically nurtures. This is the sixth volume called Leynigarðar / Secret Gardens and like other volumes in this series it is bilingual.
