Under extremely bad weather conditions; heavy wind, fog and rain
just before noon on the 26. of September 1970, a Fokker Friendship airplane belonging to Flugfélag Íslands, crashed in Knúki at Mykinesi in the Faroe Islands. The rescue mission was as extremely difficult as the environment and the weather. The wreckage was not found until hours later, eight people had died of the 34 passengers on the plane. This book describes this tragic accident, the survivors and the heroic rescue.
