Icelandic folk culture and history indeed. Markús Ívarsson lived in Eyjafjörður in the north of Iceland for fourty years in the eighteenth centure. Live was a constant struggle against hunger and poverty. He had fifteen children with eight women. Then he spent time in jail in Copenhagen, returned as a fugitive to live in Skagafjörður, close to his roots before settling in Snæfellsnes and dying there in 1923.
