Guðmundur H. Garðarsson is not, all things considered, a very prominent figure now a days. He has though been a member of parliament, as well as working for the unions for over twenty years and he went to Britain to study the economy of pension funds. His generation was the generation that experienced the booming years in Iceland after the second world war. Certainly a man of the time.
