Kristján Sigurðsson (1892–1984) was a farmer's son from Borgarfjörður in Iceland. He settled in the capital area in Iceland in the early twentieth century and lived most of his life in Kópavogur. While working at the post office his entire life he was an active participant in the culture scene of the town and kept a diary where he wrote about the exhibitions that he visited. His views and thoughts are a marvelous insight into the cultural life in Iceland at the time and they are dealt with in this book. This book is also a part of the Icelandic folk history series.
