Very interesting approach to Icelandic history and culture in this sci-fi mix by author Alexander Dan who spends his time writing sc-fi novels and singing in the Icelandic black metal band Carpe Noctem. His  novel Vættir (2018) got raving reviews and much worthy attention. This is a rewrite of the book Hrímland originally published in 2014 and was subsequently published by Gollancz.
