They say Fljótsdalur in the east of Iceland is one of the most beautiful part of the country. Be that is it may but it's rich history is certainly worth documenting and keeping alive. The author Helgi Hallgrímsson was born in Fljótsdalur and has also written about the river running through Fljótsdalur in the book Lagarfljót – mesta vatnsfall Íslands published in 2005.
