In down town Reykjavík is an old wooden house with quite the history indeed. It lies at the corner of Þingholtsstræti and Spítalastígur to be exact and was once a hospital. Then a doctor's residence. Then for a long while it housed epidemic patients of all sorts and for an even longer time it served as a shelter for homeless men in Reykjavík. All this vibrant history is brought to the reader by poet and historian Kristín Svava Tómasdóttir.
