The criminal case of Kambsrán, a breaking in and stealing that took place in a farm called Kambur in the south of Iceland in 1827, is the spark behind this novel by Ófeigur Sigurðsson. Four people burst into the home, tied and beat up the people living there and stole their possessions. Violent, notorious and later solved by a sea captain woman called Þuríður. The storyteller here in this book is a dog, only visible to some as he wanders around observing the characters and their environment.
