Siglufjörður is a town in the north of Iceland known for many things. One of these being that it was the unofficial capital of the herring fisheries in Iceland in the twentieth century. Author and founder of the Herring museum in Iceland, Örlygur Kristfinnsson, here writes his memories from growing up in Siglufjörður at the time and is a continuation of his writing in the books Svipmyndir úr síldarbæ 1 and 2.
