Elspa Sigríður Salberg Olsen has had a tragic and difficult life. She was born in Akureyri in the north of Iceland in the middle of the twentieth century and grew up in great poverty, alcoholism, violence and sexual abuse. She has managed to overcome these difficulties and met the author of this book, social worker Guðrún Frímannsdóttir and related her story to her.
