Einar Jónsson (1874 - 1954) was without a doubt a pioneer sculptor in Iceland. His romantic symbolistic work is widely celebrated and this book contains the author´s, Ólafur Kvaran, doctoral thesis. A most welcome study into one of Iceland´s greatest artists.
