A new volume in the Íslensk fornrit series is always worth a notice. Sturlunga saga is the most important contemporary narration of the power struggle of Icelandic chieftains and Norwegian kings and the Catholic Roman Church in Iceland. It also of course describes the constant fighting between the chieftains themselves in Iceland and Icelandic society at the time.
